Clayton Road comes to life with the Clayton Street Festival, one of Council’s major events attracting over 15,000 people.

Now in its 13th year, the festival will feature old favorites such as the Main Stage, Youth Zone, cultural workshops, roving entertainment, Kids Zone featuring free kids rides, Hawkers Night Market, community displays, market and trader stalls and come and try workshops and demonstrations.

Parade at 4pm

Hundreds of students from local primary schools, sporting clubs and community groups have prepared for the Clayton Festival Parade. The Parade kicks off at 4pm and walks through the Festival ending at the Hawkers Night Market located in the car park off Haughton Road East.

Kids Zone

The fun lasts all day in the Kids Zone with free kids rides, interactive activities, face painting, sand art and stage entertainment including a circus skills workshops and African drumming. Don’t miss the Community Parade at 4pm, showcasing the many faces of Clayton.

Youth Zone

Presented by Quiksound Productions, the Youth Zone will have fantastic local music and dance performances as well as delicious foods and free henna. The ‘Pop-Up Op Shop’ is back again this year, with all proceeds going to Entertainment Assist.

Enviro Zone

Join one of the interactive workshops, run by My Green Garden, with topics including preserving tomatoes, making pickles and jams, and saving seeds from your summer veggies.

Shared Table invites audiences of two to be both performers and spectators of a 10 minute intimate performance. The story unfolds as each person follows a unique set of instructions to animate the objects on the table for each other. A captivating experience you won’t forget.

Design Market

Haughton Road East will be lined with a range of market stalls offering all things handmade from fashion, jewellery and accessories to homewares, tasty treats and more. The Design Market will be open from 12noon - 9pm.

Hawkers Night Market

Located in the car park on Haughton Road East, this popular evening market will celebrate the vibrant colours, tastes and sounds of multicultural Clayton.

The market will be open from 5pm to 9pm and features delicious foods, a cider bar, free activities plus stage entertainment. Sample aromatic coffees and teas from Flavours of Monash Teas and Coffees of the World.

Quarter Street take you back to the heart of classic salsa. Inspired by the raw sounds of New York in the 1970’s, the Quarter Street revisit an era where the music of the streets resonated with the voice of the people.
