MONASH YOUNG PERSONS REFERENCE GROUP

Are you or someone you know aged between 15 and 25 and keen on having your say on youth issues in the City of Monash? Well, the Monash Young Persons' Reference Group is looking for new members.

Not only will you have a chance to share your ideas, opinions and needs as a young person, you'll also have the opportunity to have your say on Council issues, make new friends, and learn and develop new leadership skills.

GOLF COURSES

Fancy a round of golf? Why not tee off at either of Monash's two public golf courses in Glen Waverley and Oakleigh.

The recent wet weather has ensured the fairways are green and lush, and ready for you and a few friends to get together for a casual game.

To find out more, or to book your tee time, visit Council's website, Public Golf Courses or ask to be transferred to either the Glen Waverley or Oakleigh course when we take your call.

DRAFT BUDGET

Monash Council has released its proposed Budget for the upcoming financial year. The community is now invited to have their say on how your ratepayer's money is spent.

You can view the proposed Budget online at Publications - Budget, or visit one of Council's libraries, or service centres, to view it in person.

All submissions must be received by May 27th, and can be made online, or through the post.

WORDFEST

Are you the next Shakespeare or J. K. Rowling? Why not show off your literary skills by entering the '2011 Monash Word Fest' short story competition?

Get writing now for your chance to win one of the many prizes up for grabs, including prizes for our younger writers.

FLAVOURS OF MONASH

Looking for a new recipe to try out? How about a German Cherry Cake or syrupy Baklava? Then look no further than the 'Flavours of Monash' on Council's website.

Monash is one of Melbourne's most diverse multicultural communities. If you'd like to share family recipes from your native country, we'd love to hear from you.

RATE REMINDER

A reminder for ratepayers who are paying their 2010-2011 rates in four instalments… your final rates instalment is due on May 31st.

Rates can be paid via Australia Post; Bpay; by mail; at (Payments Online; or at Council Service Centres. Refer to the back of your rate notice for details

If you haven't received a notice, ask to be transferred to the Rates Office when we take your call and they'll be happy to help you out.

PETS OF MONASH

You won't see photos of your pets splashed across Hollywood gossip websites, but they can still have their 15 minutes of fame on Council's website.

We're inviting residents to send photos of their pets for display online. This is open to all pets, not just cats and dogs.

Write a short bio, include photos, then email to yvonnes@monash.vic.gov.au.
