Mayor's Column

Economic development in Monash continues to experience increased activity in providing the much needed infrastructure and support facilities that our community demands.

This is reflected in a number of projects that have commenced in recent times. This includes the EastLink Project (formerly the Mitcham Frankston Project), the nation’s biggest road project to date with $3.8 billion invested in 45 kms of road connecting the eastern to southeastern regions. Other projects include the Springvale Road Hotel Project in Glen Waverley and the $25.7 million Clayton Community Centre development.

The next few months will be a busy time for retail and for our support industries leading into the Christmas period.

Increased activity at our retail outlets places a greater demand on our local industry and suppliers. With this in mind I wish all our businesses and staff a happy and safe festive season as we look forward to even greater successes in 2007.

Please read on for further information on Business in Monash and I am sure you will agree that the City of Monash is "First for Business".
