MyPouch Wrist Wallets

A local group of student entrepreneurs have set up a small business to market a wrist wallet that they have designed as part of the Young Achievement Australia program.

The MyPouch wallet made from nylon Lycra and available in six colours, is a collaborative effort by the sixteen-member group who will market them to teenagers, health enthusiasts and clubbers for $9 each.

For several years, Monash City Council has sponsored the Young Achievement Australia program, a non-government not-for-profit organisation committed to helping young people gain insight into the business world.

Monash's Economic Development Officer, Priya Prasad is one of six mentors assisting the FIYA group to operate a small business over a period of six months.

"The participants are operating a real small business from May to November, setting up a company, developing a product, selling shares, marketing, book keeping and paying wages and taxes before liquidating the company later in the year," said Ms Prasad.

For further information about the MyPouch wrist wallets, please contact FIYA Managing Director, Shishir Pandit on 0404 674 090 or span22@student.monash.edu.au
