Women in Business Breakfast and Showcase

The City of Monash in conjunction with the Monash Business Awards held their second "Women in Business Breakfast and Showcase" on Wednesday 27 June at the Mulgrave Country Club.

The "Women in Business" event showcased over 20 exhibits from small to corporate businesses in the lead up to the Business Breakfast. The Exhibition Showcase provided networking opportunities for businesses, especially small businesses to build contacts, exchange ideas and create business alliances. The "Women in Business" Business Breakfast followed immediately, at tended by over 170 business representatives.

Cr. Denise McGill opened the Breakfast Event with keynote speakers Dr. Judith Slocombe, CEO of the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, who spoke about balancing her career with family life and Sharon Givoni of Sharon Givoni Consulting, who spoke about protecting your brand.

Attendees also heard from a couple of local businesswomen that included Gabrielle Hartin from APCOT Solutions and Julie Katz from The Planning Group.

With the success of the "Women in Business" event, it is planned to continue the theme and establish the event in the business event calendar for 2008.
