The City's Number One Business Announced
Melway Publishing was named Monash Business of the Year – Excellence, at the 2006-2007 Monash Business Awards presentation held on Friday 27 July.
More than 200 businesses and Monash Council representatives attended the event with special guests Professor David de Kretser, Governor of Victoria, Federal Member for Chisholm Anna Burke MP, Monash Mayor Cr Tom Morrissey, Cr Joy Banerji, Cr Gerry Kottek and Cr Craig Shiell.
The Melway Street Directory quickly gained acceptance in Melbourne as it offered yearly up to date information in a new and easy to read format. Within a couple of years Silvertop Taxis were the first cab company to use it exclusively.
After 10 years of hard work they released the Sydway Street Directory of Sydney in 1993. With a lot more investment the Brisway Street Directory covering Brisbane and the Gold & Sunshine Coasts was released in 2005.
Now employing 29 staff and using a fully computerised drafting system, they are now able to progress into the portable navigation space market.
The company attributes much of its long-term successes to great team of enthusiastic employees who enjoy providing accurate information to the public.
