Emergency Management
Municipal Emergency Management Plan
Like all municipalities in Victoria, Monash has its own Municipal Emergency Management Plan for handling natural disasters and emergencies. This plan, coordinated through the Victoria Police by a Municipal Emergency Response Coordinator, sets out the procedures to be followed when Council and Community Resources are required in the case of an emergency.

In the Event of a Storm
The State Emergency Service (SES) assist residents with private damage during storm events. The SES can be contacted on 132 500. Please refer to their site for more information: www.ses.vic.gov.au
Alternatively, for storm damage to roads, footpaths and nature strips, contact Council's Engineering department on 9518 3409 or after hours emergencies on 9909 0621.
Council will be clearing roads and paths to make them safe which could take some time depending on the vastness of the storm. We will then return to clear the nature strips as soon as practicable during the following weeks. It would be appreciated if the Community could assist Council to keep any debris clear of the roads and paths until it is able to be removed.
