Cr Charlotte BAINES - Deputy Mayor

MULGRAVE WARD

Charlotte was first elected to Council in the November 2005 elections. She has lived in Mulgrave Ward her entire life and used to attend Brandon Park Primary School. In the past Charlotte has played softball for Brandon Park softball club and been a judge for the Lions Youth of the Year Quest. In professional life, Charlotte is a qualified lawyer, researcher and member of staff at Monash University. Her research is primarily focused on the interaction between religion and society, and the management of diversity within Australia.

As an experienced Councillor in the City of Monash, Charlotte believes in open and transparent government that actively engages the community in key decisions making processes and goals. 'I believe that a successful government is one that focuses on improving relationships both within and between various groups, and delivering services that meet the needs of our diverse and ageing community.'

During her time on Council, Charlotte has led the establishment of a Youth Advisory Committee and a Monash History Week to improve community engagement and relationships between our older and younger generations. She was recently elected as the Patron of the Wellington Tennis Club.
