Cr Denise McGILL
OAKLEIGH WARD
Councillor McGill has a long history of community involvement and representation in both the Clayton and Oakleigh areas.
A former Councillor (1987-1994) and Mayor (1990-1991) of the City of Oakleigh, Denise was also the State Member for Oakleigh for seven years (1992-1999) and believes she can contribute her broad experience and intimate local knowledge of both her ward and the wider community of Monash to Council deliberations.
Denise is married with four adult children and has lived in Clayton all her married life. She has experienced every facet of community life from maternal health, kinders, scouts, guides, schools (primary and secondary) to recreational and sporting groups and through her time as Volunteer Co-ordinator at Monash Medical Centre.
As current Chair of the Pioneer Memorial Park Advisory Committee, with which she has been involved since 1988, Denise would like to see the completion of works in the Warrawee precinct as outlined in the Warrawee Heritage Precinct Urban Design Report.
