Cr Jieh-Yung Lo
MT WAVERLEY WARD
Jieh-Yung was born and raised in Melbourne from two hardworking Chinese migrants who arrived in Australia 31 years ago.
After attending Huntingtower School in Mount Waverley in 2002, Jieh-Yung graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 where he received a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and Asian Studies.
Since 2006, Jieh-Yung has worked in senior policy and project roles at the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria and the Essendon Football Club where he worked on key issues such as multiculturalism, housing, transport, health, education, immigration and community development. Jieh-Yung currently operates his own consulting business Polycentrix & Associates.
Jieh-Yung draws his inspiration and motivation from his parents who were very hard-working immigrants for instilling in him the importance of a good education and solid values. He is keen on bringing a fresh approach on Council to maintain and improve community services, facilities, open spaces and increase effective communication with residents and ratepayers.
Jieh-Yung's interests include cross country running, athletics, squash, chess, reading books in history and politics, hiking and spending time with his family and friends.
