Species Accounts
Accounts are provided for the following species, because they have a high likelihood of regular occurrence in the City of Monash study area, and because of the significance of each to at least one of the reserves under investigation as part of this study. For example, the Nationally significant Powerful Owl and Dwarf Galaxias are significant for Dandenong Creek. The Nationally significant Southern Bell Frog and Regionally significant Sugar Glider are important for all reserves, except Scotchmans Creek. The Regionally significant Water-rat and probably Latham's Snipe are important for all reserves. Accounts for all significant species likely to occur regularly in the study area is beyond the scope of this study.
