Climate Change
Climate change describes changes in the earths climate predominantly influenced by human activities.
Since the industrial revolution over 250 years ago, human activities, such as burning of fossil fuels and changes in land use and land cover, have released increasing volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, including methane and nitrous oxide, into the atmosphere.
Since the 1950 especially the release of these greenhouse gases has had the greatest impact on the global climate, enhancing the greenhouse effect.
Since the 1950 especially the release of these greenhouse gases has had the greatest impact on the global climate, enhancing the greenhouse effect.
This has led global average surface temperatures to increase by approximately 0.7oC since records begun in the late 1800's, producing subtle changes in the global climate with great consequences.
