Reducing Waste
Conserving vital resources and keeping useful materials out of landfill is something everyone can practice every day just by taking care with what we throw away.
Waste can be a very serious threat to the human and the natural environment, if not disposed and managed appropriately. These threats include greenhouse gas emissions from landfills and waterways pollution from littering.
Avoiding, Reducing and Recycling reduces the amount of water, energy and new materials that we use to support our lifestyle. Lowering energy use and therefore carbon emissions is one of many ways that recycling helps to tackle climate change.
