Reducing Waste - What you can do
Think before you buy:
- choose products with least packaging
- buy in bulk
- use green or cloth bags or re-use plastic shopping bags
- plastic bags can be re-used as bin liners
- choose items made from recycled material
- reuse products such as jars, plastic and glass bottles
- choose Australian made and or local products
- participate in the Council's 'Follow Your Recyclables Tour' in November each year
Recycle non-biodegradable waste:
- hold a garage sale or donate unwanted items to charity
- organise free pickup of unwanted items
Recycle organic waste

Other waste reduction tips:
- place a 'no junk mail' sticker on your letterbox
- limit excess printing: set double sided as default printing, print 2 to 1 pages, reduce font size from 12pt to 10pt and re-use one sided paper.
