Saving Water - Case Study

Annie Whitlocke - rainwater tanks

Monash resident, Annie Whilocke has been recognised for her outstanding efforts in conserving water as well as other actions to green up her household.

One of her main water saving actions include the installation of 3 water tanks equalling to 8000 litres for her organic garden as well as for washing her car.

Her garden also receives water from grey water and from extra pipes which are attached to gutters.

The toilets are flushed by a tank via a rainbank pump.

To save energy, she has installed solar panels, insulated her roof, utilised evaporative air cooling and has installed 3 skylights.

Her other sustainable actions include the use of environmentally safe products around the home and the composting of all organic waste.
