Kourabiedes (Greek Shortbread)

Oven mit

Ingredients:
  • 250g Unsalted butter
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 4 tbls Icing sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbls Ouzo
  • ½ cup Crushed roast almonds
  • 500g Self-raising flour
Preparation:
  • Beat icing sugar and butter until mixed together. Add egg yolks one at a time. Add vanilla sugar, ouzo and almonds. Hastily add the flour, dough should be a little hard not soft.
  • Cut dough with pastry cutters to designed shape and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  • Once cooked, dust with icing sugar.
