Kourabiedes (Greek Shortbread)
Ingredients:
- 250g Unsalted butter
- 2 Egg yolks
- 4 tbls Icing sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla sugar
- 1 tbls Ouzo
- ½ cup Crushed roast almonds
- 500g Self-raising flour
- Beat icing sugar and butter until mixed together. Add egg yolks one at a time. Add vanilla sugar, ouzo and almonds. Hastily add the flour, dough should be a little hard not soft.
- Cut dough with pastry cutters to designed shape and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Once cooked, dust with icing sugar.
