Dancin' in The Street at Clayton Festival
Clayton's biggest street party kicks off on Sunday 24 February with a cultural mix of music, dance, food and fun.
The fifth annual Clayton Community Festival will take place on Clayton Road, between the Railway Line and Centre Road, from noon until 6pm.
Monash City Council will host three stages full of entertainment with popular sister duo, Vika and Linda Bull on the main stage. This year's Clayton Festival will also feature acts on the Gary and Warren Smith Mazda Community Stage and FReeZA Youth Stage.
Drumming and dance workshops will he held throughout the day and free rides are expected to be a big hit with children and teenagers. This year's attractions include farm animals, jumping castle, formula one racing cars, Tommy the trackless train, a rock climbing wall and Scout activities.
Monash Mayor, Paul Klisaris said a feature of the festival is environmental sustainability and the first public recycling bins will make their official debut in the City of Monash.
"Clayton Festival annually attracts around 18,000 people and this is a great opportunity to remind festival-goers to be Waste Wise by using the rubbish and recycling bins provided at the event," said Cr Klisaris.
Last year approximately 20% of the waste produced at the Clayton Festival was recycled. The new public bins will be clearly labelled and will have either a red lid for rubbish or a yellow lid for recycling.
"The festival will also give Clayton traders, business groups and community groups a fantastic opportunity to promote their services and products."
ROAD CLOSURE
Clayton Rd will be closed between Centre Rd and the Railway Line from 3.00am Sunday 24 February to 3.00am Monday 25 February 20008.

ACE Trailer
The Active Catchment Education Model (ACE) is an interactive model of an urban catchment. The community can learn about stormwater and the impact it has on our rivers, creeks and bays. Materials representing common pollutants can be placed onto the scale model. A simulated rainstorm shows people what happens - they see water flowing over the landscape, picking up pollutants and washing it down stormwater drains into the waterways and bay.

Our Planet Performers
