Warm Water Exercise Pool - Disability Access Program
What is the Attendant Support Initiative?

The Attendant Support Initiative (ASI) is a new service that aims to provide people with a disAbility the opportunity to receive individualised support to access our Warm Water Exercise (Hydrotherapy) Pool.

The program allows participants to:
  • Access warm water exercise pool without having to rely on a carer or can simply compliment the carer if individual requires additional assistance
  • Access to specialised attendant support workers who can assist with mobility / transfers / dressing / grooming and entry / exit to and from warm water exercise pool
  • Access to disabled/family change room during ASI Session
  • Access to facilities / equipment
  • Enjoy your time in the warm water pool heated to 34 degrees
  • Become an active member of the community by accessing recreation / leisure activities
  • Enjoy social outing and interaction with other community members
The ASI program is constantly monitored, assessed and evaluated in order to identify and meet customer needs.
Facilities and assistance provided to customers in the ASI program?
Our Attendant Support Workers are specialised in supporting people with disAbilities and can provide individualised support:
  • With mobility / transfers / dressing / grooming and entry / exit to and from warm water exercise pool
  • Access to specialised equipment including:
    Disabled change room, shower and change table
    Warm Water Exercise Pool Hoist
    Warm Water Pool Access Ramp
    Portable Electric Pool Hoist
    Slings and Floating Devices
    Wet Water Wheel Chairs
Warm Water Exercise Pool - Disability Access Program
Warm Water Exercise Pool (WWE)

Participants have access to the WWE pool (heated to 34°C).
This pool is situated in a separate pool area that provides a quiet environment where customers can enjoy the benefits of the warm water to aid in relaxation, rehabilitation or recovery.

Who can use the ASI program?

We understand that the support provided will vary from person to person. In order to ensure that our Attendant Support Workers are fully aware of a person’s needs a Service User Profile needs to be completed and documented prior to the first session.

ASI Session Times
ASI sessions are available during the following times:
  • Tuesdays    10:00am to 12:00noon
  • Fridays    1:30pm to 3:30pm
  • Saturdays    1:00pm to 3:00pm
Cost

The Cost for the Attendant Support Initiative is $20 per session per person plus the Entrance Fee into the facility.
