Class Descriptions
(POL) - Classes available to Prime of Life Members
Ab Blast-30
30 minutes of work on the mid section to tone and sculpt your abdominals.
Aqua Go
water based exercises in the 25m pool to improve cardio fitness and tone the muscles.
Aquamarc (POL)
(50+ class) an exercise class held in the warm water exercise pool (WWE) and the 25 metre pool (25m pool). These classes are designed to tone the body and improve fitness levels.
Body Balance (BB)
combination of free flowing moves. Focus is placed on improving strength, flexibility and relaxation.
Body Jam (BJ)
a dance class combining hiphop, funk and latin moves.
Body Pump (BP)
weight training in a group environment- tones the entire body.
Body Step (BS)
using a platform to step up and down- another great cardio workout.
Body Combat (BC)
combines kicks and punches - a great cardio workout body step- using a platform to step up and down- another great cardio workout
Box fit
a mix-training class combining boxing exercises and equipment to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength and tone. A great fun and social workout.
Boxing
a boxing circuit class combining punches and boxing exercises to give you a great cardio workout.
Boot n Scoot (POL)
(50+ class) boot n scoot is based on the principle of line dancing. The dances are pre-choreographed routines. Generally simple to follow sequence of movements and caters for a variety of age groups and fitness levels.
Circuit
a mix-training class combining various different types of exercises and equipment to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength and tone. A great fun and social workout.
Cycle Express
30 minute cycle express workout.
Cycle Plus
cycle plus - 1 hour cycle workout- for the more experienced cyclist.
Fatburn-30
a 30 minutes class of hi/ low routines. Easy to follow freestyle cardiovascular workout.
Fleximarc (POL)
(50+ class) a stretch class designed to improve mobility and flexibility levels.
Group Cycle (GC)
specifically designed cycle bikes are used to increase fitness and burn calories.
Landmarc (POL)
(50+ class) a strength training program designed to improve mobility and gain strength.
Pilates
this class strengthens the muscles that align our body. Improves muscle tone, circulation and flexibility.
StrongMARC (POL)
(50+ class) a class designed to improve strength, core stability, flexibility and balance. This class is run in the gym. Prior to participating you must book a 15 minute assessment. Read more
Tai Chi (POL)
(50+ class) tai chi improves joint flexibility, balance and co-ordination, calms the nervous system and relives stress
X - trainer/ Butt Blast
a x- training class with various types of exercises and equipment with an added focus on toning and conditioning of your butt.
Yoga
a mind and body workout that combines posture, stretching, meditation and relaxation.
Sweat
gentle water exercises in the 25 metre pool for people with MS, motor neurine disease, huntington’s disease, cancer, arthritis, heart disease, asthma and chronic pain sufferers. This is not included in any membership.
It is recommend that all participants gain a medical clearance from their doctor before participating in any physical activity. Persons undertaking classes do so at their own risk.
