Older Adults Program and Classes

MARC exercise program
Our Older Adults Programs and Classes have been specifically designed for an older audience to improve:
  • Balance and co-ordination
  • Strength, bone density and joint flexibility
This has helped our members and class participants:
  • Keep up with their grand children
  • Bend, lift and carry
  • Climb stairs and walk

We welcome and encourage all newcomers. If you are new to classes we can recommend some you may enjoy.

Access to the facility and classes - two options available:

OPTION 1 - A Prime of Life membership (age restrictions apply)

A membership allows you to:
  • An induction into the Centre
  • Consultations with our professional staff to develop programs to help you reach your goals
  • Access to the gym and fitness facilities between 9am and 3pm
  • Access to our special range of selected group exercise classes (detailed below)
  • All pools, spa, sauna and steam room areas - Great for loosening stiff joints
  • Free special member events and discounts
  • A comfortable exercise and social environment

Personal Training is also available as a separate service.

OPTION 2: Group Exercise Class Access - Casul entry or Multi-Visit Passes

You can access a special range of selected group exercise classes (detailed below) by:

Casual entry    -   $ 7.70 per class
10 visit pass *    -   $ 69.30

* Conditions apply - passes allow access to the above classes only. Age restrictions apply.
Prices valid until 30 June 2010.

Group Exercise Classes available:

Our range of fun and easy to follow classes have been specifically designed for an older audience to improve strength and fitness to help you get the most out of life.

We welcome and encourage all newcomers. If you are new to classes we can recommend some you may enjoy.

Aquamarc - Water based class that increases the heart rate, energy levels and tones the body

Boot n' scoot - Based on line dancing with easy to follow moves and caters for a variety of age groups

Fleximarc - A stretching class that improves mobility and flexibility levels

Landmarc - Weight training class that improves strength and balance

StrongMARC - Gym based individual program designed to improve strength (individual appointment needed before attending first class see reception to book call 9561 2111). Read more

Tai Chi - Improves joint flexibility, balance and co-ordination. Calms the nervous system and relieves stress

What do I need to know about classes:

What do I need to know about classes:
  • All classes run between 30 - 60 minutes.
  • All instructors are fully accredited and qualified.
  • We recommend that you bring your own towel and water bottle.
  • Appropriate sporting attire/footwear to be worn.
  • Please collect a group exercise token from reception and hand to the instructor prior to commencement of the class.
  • Mobile phones must be switched off during classes.
  • Member and casual lockers are available to store personal belongings - enquire at reception.
  • Minimum age is 16 years for participation in classes.
  • Classes are reduced on public holidays. Please see reception for public holiday class details.
It is recommended that participants gain medical clearance before participating in physical activity programs. Persons undertaking classes do so at their own risk.
