The New Alchemists: the New Zealand National Art Awards Exhibition

Shopping bags rolled into balls or shredded and knitted into brochures, illuminated china teacups and twirling ballerinas.. The New Alchemists touring awards exhibition showcases the diversity and inventiveness of New Zealand artists who have created object art from the disposables of everyday life.

 Held until 20 August.

Free Concert

Ensemble Gombert, Melbourne's outstanding chamber choir, is noted for its pure intonation and historic approach to choral sound and style. The Ensemble specialises in a cappella performance of Franco-Flemish music of High Renaissance.

 Performing at 3pm (doors open at 2.30pm) on Sunday 16 July at the Monash Civic Centre, 293 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley.

No bookings are required. Wheelchair accessible.

Monash Youth Film Festival

RollPLAY Productions is a youth film group endeavouring to bring youth relevant ideas to life in the medium of film.

RollPLAY Productions is looking for short film entries (less than 15 minutes) from young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work, study or play in the City of Monash. Awards will be presented for best film, cinematography, sound and an audience choice award.

 Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday, 26 July, there is no cost to submit a film or have it screened at the festival.

Screenings will be held at the Glen Waverley Community Centre, on 11 August.
