Brooke Hanson Guest Stars At MARC's Swim Classic And Fun Run
A special guest appearance by Olympic gold medallist Brooke Hanson was one of the highlights of the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre's 2006 Swim Classic, 5km Fun Run and Walk last month.
Brooke was kept very busy on the day, starting the 5km Fun Run and Walk, signing autographs, presenting awards to event winners and distributing spot prizes to participants.
The aim of the event was to help improve the health of people in the City of Monash by encouraging as many people as possible to get involved and participate in the events and fun activities including a surf education program and an appearance by the Centre's mascot Minky.
The event attracted more than 150 people of all ages and ability levels including runners with babies in prams and walkers of all ages. A number of participants also participated in the swimming and run/walk events.
The staff at MARC would like to thank everyone who participated and look forward to seeing you next year!
