Focus on Glen Waverley Ward - Cr Dane Manzie
Cr Dane ManzieThere is no doubt that Monash, in particular Glen Waverley, offers a vibrant and cosmopolitan, choice-filled environment. The Glen shopping precinct is continuing to attract new opportunities and there is a commitment to a new multi-million dollar development located next to the Civic Centre, which is designed to complement the exiting Kingsway trading centre. This project offers residents many benefits in addition to a fantastic new facility for the City. The landscaping and relocation of the War Memorial will enhance this very important memorial to our history as a nation.
I am delighted to see a win for residents and traders with the proposed 2006/2007 Budget allocation by Council to install two pedestrian crossings in the Glen Waverley activity centre. The first will extend from the train station across Coleman Parade and the second will be located next to the Village entrance across Kingsway.
I have enjoyed meeting many residents within our community in my role as Councillor. Recently I had the honour of representing Monash at the ANZAC day parade in Glen Waverley. This is an event I would encourage all residents to take part in. The respect shown to our war heroes was appropriate and truly moving. It is great to hear from the many residents that have contacted me in regards to local issues; there are times when ratepayers would like to voice their concerns. As your Councillor, I will continue to represent you at Council diligently and to the best of my ability.
