Council Decisions at Its 28 August Meeting

CUSTOMER SERVICES

• Councillors Morrissey, Banerji and Baines were nominated for representation on the 2007-08 Monash Community Arts Grants Evaluation Panel to assess applications for Council funding.
• Council endorsed the City of Monash Indigenous Action Plan 2007-2011.

CORPORATE PLANNING AND FINANCE

• Council awarded the contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of a telephone system for the Civic Centre Precinct Operations, Works Administration Centre and Clayton Community Centre to 3D Networks (Australia) Pty Ltd for the GST inclusive lump sum of $351,599.60 and the ongoing maintenance of the recommended system at $23,958 per annum for a period of five years GST inclusive.

INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES

• Council accepted the tender from All Essential Fire and Security Pty Ltd for the lump sum of $195,323 GST inclusive, over six years for fire protection services in Council buildings.
• The establishment of an Environmental Advisory Committee was approved by Council. Councillors Banerji, Kottek and McGill were nominated as members of the committee.
• Council awarded S & TL Van Hooydonk the contract for paving maintenance for $390,000 per annum, excluding GST, for an initial term of one year.
• M & J Schofield Pty Ltd, Art Electrical Services and Karac Electrics were award the contract for electrical repairs in Council buildings for the total value of $310,000 per annum, exclusive of GST.

CITY DEVELOPMENT

• Council noted the commencement of the development of the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2008-2011.
• The report containing the Town Planning schedules was noted by Council.
• Council accepted the tender of Presta & Sons Pty Ltd for road improvement works on Windsor Avenue, South Oakleigh for the GST inclusive lump sum of $154,000.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

• Council appointed Daniel Wain as Principal Accounting Officer to certify the Financial Standard and Performance Statements for 2006-07 and authorises those statements to be submitted to the external auditor. Council authorises Councillors Morrissey and Kottek to certify the statements in their final form.

COUNCILLORS' REPORTS

• A report on public transport activity in the City of Monash was noted by Council.
