New Health Plan For Monash
Council will target four priority areas over the next three years as part of the new Monash Municipal Health Plan launched by Mayor, Tom Morrissey, last week.
Megan Kelly, Monash Team Leader Health Promotion, said the plan focuses on four main priorities: supporting a safe and sustainable community, healthy lifestyle choices, encouraging community involvement and maximising access to health services and facilities.
Ms Kelly said the comprehensive consultation process, involving community members, interest groups, agencies and Council staff, was extremely encouraging and she thanked all those who participated.
The previous Monash Municipal Public Health Plan resulted in a number of major achievements in health promotion programs, food safety, immunisation, tobacco education and local laws to strengthen control over graffiti, noise and animals.
A copy of the City of Monash Municipal Public Health Plan is available on the Council website at Municipal Public Health Plan or please contact the City of Monash Health Promotion Officer on 9518 3542.
