Business Centre Even More Enterprising

After eight years assisting more than 90 local small businesses, the second stage of the Monash Enterprise Centre has been officially opened by Monash Mayor, Tom Morrissey and Federal Minister for Tourism, Fran Bailey.

"Today we realise the vision that we had in the late 1990s, and that is to nurture and guide the growth of small businesses in and around the Monash area in a practical way," Cr Morrissey said.

Stage two consists of 15 new units for small business opportunities and ancillary facilities including toilets, showers, a social area and additional car parking. The first stage was opened in March 1999.

In the past eight years, over 90 small businesses have successfully developed and graduated from the Centre into the market place thereby stimulating the local economy.

"The stage two extension only reached practical completion a few weeks ago and yet already most offices are now occupied. This is testament to the demand for such a facility," Cr Morrissey said.
