Monash Carols By Candlelight
The stars are moving into alignment over Jells Park in preparation for the 19th annual Monash Carols by Candlelight. More than 20,000 people are expected to join Santa and his team of musical stars to celebrate the magic of Christmas on Sunday, 16 December.
Channel Nine's longest serving on air personality, Pete Smith will be compering his sixth consecutive Monash Carols by Candlelight.
The free event will feature pre-show activities for the kiddies with a jumping castle and farm animals starting at 4pm, followed by a performance by children's music band The Jellybugs.
Carols by Candlelight is produced by Monash Council and this year has received generous sponsorship from Savings & Loans Credit Union, the Monash Journal, FKP Limited and Burwood Plumbing.
Renowned for their extraordinary song-writing, skin-tight harmonies and stunning live performances, Australia's award-winning female vocal group Coco's Lunch have thrilled fans across Australia, Asia, Europe and Canada and will be inspiring the audience to sing along with the carols.
The solo performers will be accompanied by the Melbourne Chamber Choir, now in its 25th year of performing choral music, and the Monash Carols by Candlelight Band, comprised of the Monash Concert Band and the Oakleigh City Band.
Monash Carols by Candlelight will conclude with the appearance of a well-travelled very special guest and a spectacular fireworks finale at 10pm.
Carols by Candlelight is also supported by Parks Victoria, Victoria Police, Waverley SES, St John Ambulance, Monash District Scouts, Rotary Club of Waverley, Freemasons Monash District, Kiwanis Club of Waverley and Wheelers Hill Lions Club.
