Message From The Mayor

The new Clayton Community Centre will enable Clayton residents to embrace and build on their strengths and diversity in a top quality facility that meets the needs and will of the people.

I was a Clayton resident for a number of years and have many fond memories of the area. I believe what makes Clayton a unique place is the meeting place of cultures and spirit of the people.

In addition to the Centre, the development of the Clayton Square Precinct will provide for safe, pedestrian and bicycle access routes which link the Precinct with the Community Centre, and nearby residential areas and open space corridors.

This fosters the enjoyment and 'ownership' of public spaces by people of all ages, abilities and interests by providing for a range of recreational choices and opportunities.

This exciting project could not have occurred on such a scale without the support of the State Government. On behalf of the people of Clayton and all of Monash, I wish to extend my sincere thanks and congratulations to them for sharing in our vision.
