Preschool storytimes, a Homework Club and Seniors Internet Club are just three of the features in the new Clayton Library.
The library will house a collection of 50,000 items and 12 computers with Internet access.
Regular activities at the library include Preschool Storytimes on Mondays at 11.00am, and Cyberkidz for kids in Grades 3 – 6 on the third Monday of each month at 4pm.
There is Homework Club for secondary students Tuesdays from 4.00pm – 7.30pm, Wednesdays from 4.00pm to 6.00 pm and Thursdays from 6.00pm to 8.00pm during school term.
A new Seniors Internet Club starts on 17 April and will meet on the third Thursday of each month at 10.00am – 12noon.
Patrons will be able to bring a coffee and tea into the new library while they read a magazine or newspaper in the lounge area. Resources for Clayton's CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) communities will also be prominent in this new space.
"his fabulous new facility gives us a wonderful venue to host events during the Monash Literature Festival and throughout the whole year," said Ms Ruffy.
