Clayton Youth And Family Services

Monash Youth and Family Services (MYFS) will enhance the delivery of services to young people and families in the Clayton area as part of the new Clayton Community Centre.

MYFS will provide a range of counselling and support services for young people aged 10-25 and families with dependant children aged 0-18.

Monash Youth and Family Services Co-ordinator, Lucas Gosling said the new central office would allow young people and families access to much needed professional services in Clayton.

"The concept for the new Clayton Centre was born in 2001 when we conducted community based forums to understand local perceptions of issues in the area and look at the types of action needed to address them," said Mr Gosling.

"From those forums we created four working groups to address the areas of community drug education, community service provision, community recreation and local amenities as part of an ongoing collaborative community project."

Monash Youth and Family Services has a team of professional youth and family support workers who provide informative and engaging programs including FReeZA youth events and activities, a film group, young mothers’ support group, parenting programs and many others.

The new MYFS Clayton office will also incorporate a number of other services at the same location. Gambler’s Help will provide support and financial counselling and the Eastern Drug and Alcohol Service will also be represented.

If you or a young person you know needs assistance with support or counselling please call Monash Youth and Family Services on 9561 7359, or visit our website www.myfs.org.au
