Electra Community Centre On Track
Construction of the new $3.6 million Electra Community Centre at Ashwood is on track and ahead of the pack.
A ground-breaking ceremony was held on 21 January and since then works have progressed on schedule on the new energy efficient community building.
A concrete slab covering 1,123m2 has been poured and the frame of the building has been erected.
The lighting in the building is energy efficient and surface mounted, which means that the insulation materials in the roof aren't compromised. An estimated 63,700 litres of harvested rainwater will be used for toilet flushing and garden irrigation.
Construction is expected to be completed in December.
