Do You Know Someone Who Deserves An Award?

Do you know a person who volunteers in a leadership role or performs important volunteer community work in the City of Monash?

Monash Council is now calling for nominations for the annual Sir John Monash Community Awards.

"The Awards are our way to acknowledge the incredible contributions made by Monash residents each year. Sir John Monash was an extraordinary leader and each year we honour his memory by encourAgeing others who pour their efforts, time and commitment into our community," said Monash Mayor, Paul Klisaris.

The Sir John Monash Community Awards recognise special service to the City of Monash in three categories including the Community Leadership Award, Volunteer of the Year Award and Young Volunteer Award.

Any individual, community organisation or professional body can nominate a deserving person for these awards.

Nominations close on Thursday, 16 July 2009 and will be followed with a special awards presentation ceremony on 17 August.

Guidelines and nomination forms are available at 2009 Sir John Monash Community Awards or by contacting Karyn Boardman on email karynb@monash.vic.gov.au or by phoning 9518 3509.
