Snakes Alive at Ashwood Chadstone Fun Day!
4 October 2007
Get up close and personal with reptiles at the fifth annual Ashwood Chadstone Family Fun Day on Sunday 21 October from 11am - 3pm at Batesford Reserve.
Snakebusters are unique handlers because these snakes, usually highly venomous and dangerous, have been 'Venomoid', meaning their venom glands have been surgically removed rendering the snakes virtually harmless.
The Snakebusters display will also feature giant pythons, crocodiles and other reptiles that the public can look at, touch and learn more about.
Monash Mayor, Tom Morrissey said the annual event attracts around 5,000 people and signals the start of Monash's annual festival season.
"The Ashwood Chadstone Fun Day a great community event with local performance groups, food and information stalls. It is a wonderful opportunity to show the community spirit that is so much a part of life in our city," said Cr Morrissey.
