Monash Announces Community Arts Grants

Monash City Council has announced the recipients of the 2008/2009 Community Arts Grants who will share in $61,300 in funding to support arts and cultural activities next year.
Mayor Paul Klisaris said that the grants would help provide the City with many noteworthy events and cultural activities, as well as community concerts, exhibitions and festivals.
"These grants enable many residents to experience the broad artistic landscape that we have here in Monash. The Evaluation Committee was very impressed by the standard of this year's applications and the growing number of requests for this program. For this reason, Council has agreed to a 4% increase to next year's Community Arts Grants budget," Cr Klisaris said.
The Community Arts Grants Evaluation Committee consists of Councillors Klisaris, Banerji, Baines with the support of Council Officers.
