Hope For New Youth Film Project
30 January 2008
An exciting new twist is coming to the youth program rollPLAY Productions. Young people, aged between 14 and 25, are invited to join a new group for the first youth film project for 2008.
Monash Mayor, Cr Paul Klisaris said this was a fantastic opportunity for budding young filmmakers to get experience and see their work on the big screen.
Based on a play written by a HOPE (Helping Our People Educate) theatre group member, the Monash film project is the story a young man and his family who migrate to Australia from Africa. The first days in their new country are full of excitement and happiness. However, tensions soon arise.
The new youth film group is designed for those who:- Make their own films,
- Want to expand technical knowledge and skills,
- Learn more about behind the scenes in the film world,
- Develop acting skills,
- Meet new people while being involved in a creative film project.
Opportunities also exist to plan and run this year's Monash Youth Film Festival and judge films entered for the festival.
This project is supported by Monash Youth and Family Services and Southern Ethnic Advocacy and Advisory Council.
If you live, work or study in Monash and want to join rollPLAY Productions 2008, please call Shelley or Bill at Monash Youth and Family Services on 9561 7359, email: shelleye@monash.vic.gov.au.
