Monash Sets The Stage For New Youth Theatre Project
13 October 2009
Monash Youth and Family Services (MYFS) is launching a dramatic new Youth Theatre Project for young people who have an interest in the arts and who want to assist with staging a live theatre production.
The Youth Theatre Project will begin on Wednesday 21 October at the Jordanville Community Centre and will run for approximately 10 months, culminating in a live theatre production.
Mayor Paul Klisaris said the project aims to provide young people with the confidence, knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their future direction in life.
"This remarkable new theatre project will provide a great opportunity for skill development and will provide young people with stronger connections with their community" said Cr Klisaris.
Program participants will receive assistance from MYFS project officers on planning, promoting, and executing their production. The project is funded by Youth Foundations Victoria and Monash City Council.
APPLICATION FORMS can be downloaded from the MYFS website at www.myfs.org.au.
