Rock N' Roll High School - A Time Honoured Tradition
15 October 2009
In the time honoured tradition of The Ramones, who famously rocked the halls of academia in the 1979 film 'Rock and Roll High School', Ashwood Secondary College is set to shake, rattle and roll with five local bands performing live on Friday, 23 October.
Monash Youth and Family Services (MYFS) and Quiksound Productions are calling on all music lovers to check out local bands Harlequin Heroes, Picture Perfect Skys, While the City Sleeps, Celadore and Emerson.
Monash Mayor Paul Klisaris congratulated MYFS and Quiksound Productions on putting together yet another great event for young people who work, live, study and recreate in the City of Monash.
"MYFS and Quiksound have given young people in our area some great events and they're always on the lookout for new talent to nurture and young people to help plan, promote and organise events," said Cr Klisaris.
'Rock and Roll High School' will run from 7pm until 11pm live at the Ashwood Secondary College Hall, Vannam Drive in Ashwood. It is an all-ages, fully supervised drug, alcohol and smoke-free event.
Tickets are $10 or $8 with the event flyer. Flyers can be downloaded at www.myfs.org.au or by visiting MYFS at the Clayton Community Centre in Clayton or 14 Bogong Avenue in Glen Waverley.
