Draft Council Plan 2006 - 2010 (2007 Update)
Monash Council has prepared a draft Council Plan 2006 - 2010 (2007 Update). The Council Plan contains strategic objectives, strategies and a Strategic Resource Plan 2007/08 - 2010/11 that outlines the financial and other resources required of the Council Plan over the next four years.
Proposed Annual Budget for 2007 - 2008
The Annual Budget has also been prepared in accordance with Section 129 and Section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act) and Regulation 9 of the Local Government (Finance & Reporting) Regulations 2004 (the Regulations) for the financial year commencing 1 July 2007 and Monash City Council gives notice that:- The Council will meet on 26 June 2007 at the Civic Centre, 293 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley, to adopt its Council Plan and budget.
- The total amount borrowed as at 30 June 2007 is expected to be $10M.
- The total amount proposed to be borrowed during the financial year other than borrowings to refinance existing loans is $Nil.
- The total amount projected to be redeemed during the financial year is $1.7M.
- The projected total amount of borrowings as at 30 June 2008 is $10M
- The projected cost of servicing the borrowings during the financial year is $604,000.
- The proposed rate in the dollar for the General Rate is to be levied at $ 0.003296 based on Site Value. Council does not propose to declare a differential rate.
- There is no municipal charge.
- There is no minimum rate.

The information contained in this Notice and additional information on the annual budget and the Council Plan is also available for public inspection at the above locations in accordance with the Regulations.
Written submissions pursuant to Section 129 of the Act, and requests for verbal submissions pursuant to Section 223 of the Act on any proposal contained in the proposed Council Plan or budget must reach the Council by 5pm 20 June 2007.
All submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Monash City Council, 293 Springvale Rd, Glen Waverley, 3150. A committee of Council will consider any verbal or written submissions received by 5pm, 20 June, at its meeting to be held at 6pm on Thursday, 21 June at the Civic Centre and will give public notice of its decision in accordance with Section 130 (2) of the Act.
