Eastern Raiders Softball Club

Eastern Raiders welcomes players of all ages and capabilities to join us.

We field teams in all age groups from junior T-ball through to senior A-grade. Opportunities exist for girls of all ages to advance through various grades of competition and to participate in teams competing in Waverley representative teams, State and National Championships and even Masters! (over 35). We also cater for boys, who can play in our T-ball and Primary B (up to Grade 5) competition, and follow on into our Under 14 and Under 17 teams.

We encourage all family members to join in, and our main focus is fun and participation. We like to see our players and parents become involved in coaching, umpiring and scoring.

The Waverley summer softball season is played on Saturdays and runs from October through to the end of March. There are breaks for long weekends, Christmas and school holidays.

If you want to play softball at any level come and join us. We aim to provide the enjoyment of softball to everyone who wants to play!

Around the Bay in a Day

Around the Bay in a Day is Australia's premier mass participation bike ride. Leading into its sixteenth year, the event is experiencing significant growth, with over 14,000 riders participating in 2007. With a final figure yet to be finialised, it is anticipated that these riders will raise a record tally for the official charity partner, The Smith Family.

The event offers a choice of four ride distances: 50km, 100km, 210km and 250km. With the exception of the 100km ride, which starts in Sorrento, all rides start and finish at the same location – Alexandra Gardens in the heart of the city of Melbourne.

You can also look forward to another bumper weekend of cycling activities with the Melbourne Cycling Festival to be held over the weekend of the 17 - 19 October 2008.
