L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program

The L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program is on the lookout for volunteer mentors to assist new drivers.

The Cities of Monash and Kingston, in partnership with the Southern Ethnic and Advisory and Advocacy Council (SEAAC), are looking for volunteers to assist disadvantaged learners who do not have access to a car or an instructor, to accumulate 120 hours of driving needed to get their probationary licence, or 'P plates'.

Mentors of the program will provide driving instructions and supervision in a supplied L2P car for those aged between 16 and 20 years. VicRoads will provide support and practical training in the supplied vehicle to help volunteers to become a mentor.

The Volunteer Mentors will be required to:
  • Register to the program,
  • Complete mandatory checks,
  • An interview and VicRoads Training.

The Learner Driver will have up to 7 professional lessons throughout the mentoring program.

Are you:
  • Interested in assisting a young person in the Cities of Monash and Kingston,
  • Are over 25 years
  • A full licensed driver and
  • Commitment for a minimum of 6 months
