Pets of Monash - Dogs
New additions - Archie and Gwinny
Archie and Gwinny
These are my two wee monsters, Archie and Gwinny.
I rescued them a week apart and they've been so close, ever since and my life has never been the same!
Anzac and Chance

This is Anzac... a Stumpy tail cattle dog.
Four previous owners.. Anzac was left to starve by a neighbour...eventually given to me ..
I have trained him.. and still train twice a week
Anzac can sit, stay, drop, speak, leave, do a circle, ring a bell, weave, leave, and do anything that is asked of him...
Before I got him he had never been on a lead , or house trained..
He will soon be on a show Catalyst ...plus Better Homes and Gardens.
Great Dog
This is Chance ...Chance is a born deaf Heeler that does all his commands with a hand signal.
He can drop, sit, stay , will not eat until given a command, he can push a pram, ride a skateboard.
Chance is so bright and being deaf has never been a problem to him.
Here he is giving a wave
Judy
Baxter
A little bit about Baxter...
His father was a relentlessly self-improving kennel owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for barking. His mother was a fifteen-year-old French canine named Chloe with webbed feet. His father would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark.
Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. A sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.
His puppyhood was typical; summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring he'd make meat helmets. Pretty standard, really.
He also likes liver treats.
Shayne
Boya
My dogs name is boya and he is a 14 year old Kelpie x.
boya is a very naughty boy because he walks around in circles on the hardwood floors in the middle of the night which wakes me up.
Naughty boya!
Peter
Buppy
Hi, my name is Buppy!
I am 8yrs old and I am a Chihuahua crossed with a dash of Human.
My Mummy is the best (apart from Spud's Mummy!) and she loves to buy me silly outfits and finds me the best treats.
I love a cup of tea when Mummy has one and I love to sleep - a lot! When my Mummy takes me for a walk, sometimes I don't like to go so I make her carry me until I can't see my house.
I am very protective of my Mummy and always like to be the centre of attention unless I am sleeping. I love to bark at anything that is in my garden that doesn't belong and sometimes I bark at things only I can see and my Mummy thinks I am crazy!!
I love cuddles and to chew on a bone for hours. My life is FAB!!!!
GRRRRRRR :)
Victoria
Charlie
My name is Charlie and I'm a purebred 13-year-old Labrador who loves nothing more than a lie down and, like all my fellow Labs, a love of copious amounts of food.
Sun protection is vital for all dogs, as many of us enjoy our time outdoors. My hat and sunglasses ensure that I can keep a healthy glow while not risking the harmful rays of the sun penetrating my soft skin. It also makes me look cutting edge and hip.
I also like to eat tissues. A strange habit, but one that has been with me since birth. You may think the texture is not very nice, but I personally enjoy them. I once got hold a toilet roll and it was like a giant tissue that just kept on coming. It was one of the highlights of my life. I felt like that puppy on the advertisements. I hope to meet that dog one day soon.
I've fooled my owners into thinking that I'm going deaf ? but little do they know I just have selective hearing. I know exactly when my food bowl is being moved, don?t you worry about that.
Paul
Charlie
This is charlie, he's a Labrador Retriever and he's 18 months old.
He loves his daily walks and his favourite pastimes are stealing socks and chewing up slippers (and chasing possums!)
Jeanette
Coco
When we decided to get a dog, our family and friend's first reaction was: "Are you sure you want to do this? A dog is such a big commitment! A dog is life changing".
Our Miniature Labradoodle Coco was born on the 5th of November 2008 and we got her 8 weeks later from a breeder in Sale (Omega Park Kennels).
Looking back I have to admit: family and friends where right - Coco changed our life - but in an absolute wonderful lovely way.
She is a very clever and gorgeous friend for us and is loved by everyone who got to know her so far.
Polster Family, Wheelers Hill
Edge
This is Edge!
He is a playful Puppy but doesn't seem to like Melbourne Football Club supporters!
His favourite song is "Living on the Edge" by Aerosmith!
Ben
Goblet
I'm a very lively 2 year old Border Collie. I was born on a farm called Warrook, but there is plenty of space to move around in here in Monash.
I love long walks along Bushy Park with Dad, jumping hurdles and low fences for exercise ( I can't jump the fences of my yard !) and Totem Tennis and soccer... Unfortunately , my teeth tend to puncture the ball after a while.
I also love visiting "Tara" (the lady Collie across the street) for a play in her backyard.
I love car trips and holidays away with my family.
This is my tired happy face after a long day playing on a friend's farm near Geelong.
Mandy
Happy
This is my dog 'Happy'. He loves going for walks, playing with his ball and cuddling up with anyone who sits on the couch. He is so pampered that he never just sits on the floor ... he will sit on the couch up on the highest pillow!
I have had him for almost 10 years and got him from the RSPCA (and still wonder to this day how anyone could have abandoned this beautiful and friendly dog).
And of course you can tell he is a librarian's dog ... he never goes anywhere without his Monash Public Library bag.
I keep this photo as my computer screen saver.
Matt
Homer
Homer had a rough start to his life, but is now very happy living with us.
His favourite places are leash free areas, especially the dog beach at Brighton, where he can run and run and run (and then his mat, where he can sleep and sleep and sleep).
He gets very excited when he sees other dogs and people walking past our fence and I am sure that everyone who lives near us has seen Homer bouncing around and saying hello to them!
Heather and Daryl
Horse
Hey! I'm Horse, a 2 1/2yr old Labrador cross German Shepherd.
I'm not a pet, but I AM a dog! I'm a big puppy when I'm off duty.
I frequently underestimate my size, Mummy's got to stop me from overwhelming people. I also compete in agility as well, so forgive me for jumping the yard fence occasionally!
When I'm working though, you can easily think I've been working for years, I'm so good at helping! Please don't distract me while I'm working, Mum has trained me to ignore uninvited pats, but if people would keep their hands to themselves she wouldn't have to.
Cazz
Indianna
Here is a photo of my 8 year old Labrador named Indianna.
He has a big heart and even bigger appetite. His life revolves around his stomach.
When he's not thinking about eating, he's either swimming or sleeping.
He is one spoilt dog.
Marian
Jasper
This is Jasper, a King Charles/Cocker Spaniel, age 10 tri-colour has grown up with the grandchildren over the years and is very popular with many other dogs in the area of Valley Reserve.
Never had a fight with any other dog, male or female...
Can be seen almost every day walking the parks...under lead............
Rodney
Kelly
This is a photo of my son Patrick and Kelly, our four year old Cocker Spaniel.
As you can see she is rather spoilt and one of the family - she is nicknamed the sock monster as one of her habits is to greet visitors with a sock in her mouth and present it to them as a welcoming gift.
Needless to say we are always looking for the pair to our socks and find them in peculiar places - she loves walks and food - not sure in which order and terrorises the milkman twice a week.
She's got a lovely nature (except where the milkman is concerned) and we love her to bits.
Carmel
Kulfi
My dog name is Kulfi and he is 2 + yr old Japanese Spitz.
He enjoys walking and running around in the leash free park.
He loves eating food and playing with his toy fox. He howls at the phone when it rings.
Antara, Wheelers Hill
Maisie
This is Maisie a 1 year old Mini Schnauzer who loves walks on the beach.
Her favourite hobby is collecting sticks.
As soon as she finds one on a walk, she does a U-turn and heads home.
Sally
Martha
I found Martha at the Save a Dogs Scheme - SADS in Malvern.
She just knew that I was going to be her best friend.
I often wonder what her life was before she came to me - she just loves to sit on my knee and be patted, so I wonder whether she belonged to an elderly person who may have been disabled and that the family didn't want her after her owner went into a nursing home or passed away.
Jennifer
Mortimer
This is the pride and joy of our family ? Mortimer.
Mortimer is a Neapolitan Mastiff, although he was bought in Australia he is of a Norwegian background.
At 8 months he already weighs over 60kg, and we expect him to get much much bigger.
Although he is large and can be intimidating, he loves people and people love him.
Expect him to be sleeping all day or hovering over everyone's food.
Cailin
Party Pie and Angus

Here are my 2 darling boys.....
First picture is Party Pie.
He's a Maltipom (Maltese x Pomeranian), 2 and a half years old. He's in one of his favourite spots - on the deck in the sunshine doing it real hard!
Number 2 boy is Angus (Gussie).
He's a Maltipoo (Maltese x Poodle), 9 years old and nick named "The Gentleman" because of his impeccable manners - except when there is a ball on the go or schmackos!!
Karen
Pepe
Our dog's name is Pepe and he is so playful in that he is always wriggling on the grass. He always likes to cuddle with you.
He is a cavoodle which is a cross (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Miniature Poodle).
My Mum likes this dog better then others as she was chased by a pit bull years ago so hated dogs for ages afterwards.
Tashy (8 years old)
Rosie
Rosie loves to sleep anywhere, especially nice plump cushions.
Rosie is a Cavalier King Charles and is nearly 4 years old.
Elizabeth
Rosie
I suppose we all think our pets are gorgeous and they all are in their own way.
My girl Rosie is a delight, a companion always there for me with a wag of her tail. This photo is my favourite because it really depicts what she does most of the time when she is not encouraging me to take her for a walk or feed her.
Golden retrievers are notorious for their fur loss, have her brush up against me and I am 'wearing' her all day. And you know what I wouldn't have it any other way.
Glenys
Ruby
This is a picture of my beautiful dog, a Maltese Shih-Tzu named Ruby.
We adopted her from the RSPCA in June 2007 when she was 18 months old. She had been surrendered along with two other dogs from the same household.
She is an absolute delight, lots of fun and a very loving pet. She is very protective of our 15 year old Cavalier cross dog, Harvey, who is blind and deaf. Ruby is his eyes and ears, even though he finishes her dinner every night !!!!
Kay
Rusty
Peter and I got Rusty from Keysborough shelter a couple of months after our last dog died of old age.
We missed having a dog and he was just the thing, about 8 mths old and very affectionate.
He's now 4.5 and a very much loved member of the Family.

Sparkles
This is "Sparkles", the Wonder Dog.
Well, thats what we call her. She has just turned 2 years old. She is a Golden Retriever.
I got home from work one night and she proudly run around the backyard to show me what she had been up to for the day. She had chewed apart my swing chair. I couldn't get angry with her as she is so cute, so had to take a photo first before cleaning up!
Sparkles goes to work with her dad twice a week. She hangs out in his office warming her paws near the heater, or hiding under the Directors' desk. And if the guys are in a meeting she will scour the bins or drag a branch inside to chew on.

Spud
Hi, my name's Spud - 'spud' by name, 'spud' by nature (I'm an English Staffordshire Bull Terrier).
I am also known by many other names: Spuddy; Spudmeister; Spudicus; and also Pizza Boy (that's a long story, so I won't go into it here).
My favourite food is......food!
Notorious for my belching, I have been told to chew and not gulp my food, but I say yummies are to be eaten with gusto!
A big juicy bone can keep me amused for hours. I have simple needs.
I love running and chasing moving objects - for a little while. I don't understand the need to retrieve a ball time and time again (sigh). If I've chased it down once and brought it back, isn't that enough??
I enjoy the company of humans, cats, other dogs and possums.
I like to go for long walks with one of my owners (the attractive, articulate one).
I say phooey to that! I'm just a good time pup who enjoys his food and lives life to the fullest!
Jenny
Willow
This is Willow!! She is a 10 month old Chihuahua X Pomeranian.
Her nickname is the Energizer Bunny - she is full of energy, is constantly bugging you to play!
Always up to her crazy antics of stealing shoes dropping the ball at your feet and eating everything!!
Rhiann
Xisca, Trixie and Molly

Meet Xisca - border collie and Trixie - terrier, they are the best of friends.
Both girls are rescue dogs and have loving natures.
Xisca is now 14 years and Trixie is around 5 years old.
This year they lost their dear friend Molly in a dog attack when we all went for a morning walk.

With lots of love, cuddles, routine, walks and trips to see our horses they are adjusting to life with out her.
TOP: Xisca and Trixie are holidaying in Euroa
BOTTOM: Our wonderful Molly at Christmas

Ziggy
This is a photo of Ziggy. Sadly we lost him (aged 15) two years ago.
He was the most wonderful friend and companion. We used to walk 4 or 5 kilometres a day with him, although I believe Border Collies will travel up to about 80 kilometres a day.
It seems he kept us fit while we short-changed him, but I'm sure he didn't mind!
