Highlights
In 2003, Monash City Council developed a 10-year plan for the municipality, titled Monash 2012 - A Strategy for the Future. This strategy identified ten major themes in setting out the aspirations of the Monash community over the next decade. This document was reviewed in 2006 and a "Snapshot Report" was produced and presented to the community.
The Council Plan, which sets out Council's strategic objectives over the four-year period, references Monash 2012 in establishing those objectives, namely:
- an inclusive and connected community
- a supportive community
- a prosperous community
- a liveable city
- responsible corporate governance.
The Annual Report outlines Council's activities against these 5 objectives in the following highlights section. It will also report on achievement of its 2006/07 Business Plan Targets in the City of Monash Performance Statement 2006/07 included in this document.
Council has an obligation under the Best Value legislation to report to the community on service performance. Included throughout the Annual Report are graphs, which illustrate service performance across a range of Council Services. Performance is monitored on a quarterly basis in these and other service areas.
