Monash 2012 (2006 update)

Council adopted Monash 2012 - 'A Strategy for the Future' in early 2003, providing the City with a 10-year vision. In 2006, performance against the long term strategy was reviewed producing a 'Snapshot Report' of progress and presented to the Monash community.

Community feedback and consultation with Council and staff all contributed to the research for producing the updated 2006 version of Monash 2012. The 2006 update identifies ten key themes considered by the community and Council to be the most significant that Monash will need to address over the next ten years. These themes are outlined as follows:

• Community
• Youth and Family Services
• Aged Health and Community Care
• Cultural Diversity
• The Environment
• Residential Development
• Economic Development
• District and Activity Centre Development
• Transport and Traffic Management
• Council Facilities

Monash 2012 (2006 update), as the corner stone to Council's planning framework, identifies Council's key strategic direction, directly informs the development of the Council Plan and, as a consequence, Council operations and activities. This strategic planning process ensures an effective and appropriate regime of financial and resource planning for service delivery outcomes.
