Strategic Objective 5 - Responsible Community Focused Services
Community Focused Services
Business Planning and Continuous Improvement Framework
In 2006, the City of Monash adopted the business planning and continuous improvement framework to replace the regulated aspects of the Best Value Legislation. In responding to the part of the legislation that was still required, the business planning and continuous improvement framework was adopted as an integrated approach to service improvement across Council.
A service unit's functions and improvement initiatives are documented annually in a Service Operational Plan. The Service Operational Plan is the vehicle for ensuring principles, including those below, underpin all of Council's service provision.
- Consult with the community
- Respond to community needs
- Be accessible
- Set quality and cost standards
- Measure performance
- Continuously improve
- Report transparently on an annual basis to the community.
Business planning and continuous improvement is an integral part of the City of Monash planning framework with the aim being to ensure services are responsive to the needs of service users.
