Arts & Cultural Development

Council presented another very successful Winter Concert Series and Sir John Monash Lecture with attendances increasing to over 1,490. Council continued to support community arts and cultural activities throughout the City, with the Monash Community Arts Grants Program providing $60,000 worth of funding.

ArtsLife, a quarterly publication provided information to the community on the City's arts, literature, events and cultural activities.

Arts and Cultural Development continued to work with the community to deliver a number of programs and exhibitions including a NAIDOC Week Exhibition, Flavours of Monash at the Oakleigh Festival; the Snapfest photographic competition in conjunction with Monash Gallery of Art and the J.W. Hurst Reserve School Art Competition.

The Monash Arts and Cultural Development Strategy 2007-2010 informed and guided arts and cultural activities throughout the City.
