Recreation Strategy
In the third year of the Recreation Services Strategic Plan;- Investigations were completed into environmental management issues related to service delivery and facility development.
- A range of options were developed to manage the increased demand for sports fields, including club education programs, expansion of the use of warm season grasses, sustainable sports club training and playing practices, conversion of water reliant playing surfaces to synthetic and water conservation.
- A pro-active approach was adopted to align service delivery to changing community expectations and demand as a result of altered demographic, cultural, economic and social circumstances.
- A range of new communication channels were employed to ensure the effective reach of services, including websites, forums & workshops, print media and material, peak sporting/industry representative bodies and use of emerging technologies.
