Municipal Public Health Plan

I am proud to present the Monash Municipal Public Health Plan 2007-2010 to you.

A key principle guiding the development of this plan was the need to engage the community and Council staff. It is extremely encourAgeing that so many people are interested in expressing their needs, priorities and aspirations relating to health and wellbeing. As Chair of the Monash Municipal Public Health Plan Advisory Committee, I am well aware of the extensive consultation and research that has taken place in order to produce this plan. I would like to personally thank all those members of the Monash community who contributed to the development of the Monash Municipal Public Health Plan 2007-2010.

This document identifies a number of strategic actions that Monash Council is committed to throughout the duration of the plan. It is understood that activities to improve community health and wellbeing are more effective if they are aligned with other plans and policies. For this reason the Monash Municipal Public Health Plan 2007-2010 is linked very closely to the Monash Council Plan 2006-2010 and other key documents.

I encourage you to read this plan to learn of how the City of Monash intends to address public health dangers and issues in the next three years.
