Municipal Public Health Plan
Health Priorities
The research and community consultation process indicated that there are four main health priority areas that need to be addressed in the Monash Municipal Public Health Plan 2007-2010. These priorities are closely aligned with the principles and strategic objectives described in Monash 2012 and the Monash Council Plan 2006-2010. They also reflect the priorities covered in the previous Monash Municipal Public Health Plan (2004-2006), those of adjoining local government areas and those contained within the Community Indicators Framework Victoria4.
The four health priorities are:1. A Sustainable, Liveable and Safe Community
2. Healthy Lifestyles
3. An Inclusive and Connected Community
4. A Supportive Community
GOALS are statements about preferred long-term outcomes.
OBJECTIVES describe what needs to take place in order to achieve the goal.
STRATEGIC ACTIONS describe how the objectives will be attained. Some of the strategic actions identified in the Monash Municipal Public Health Plan 2007-2010 are currently being implemented and will continue to be supported throughout the duration of this plan.
