Monash Profile and Indigenous Statistics
The City of Monash is one of Melbourne's most populous municipalities, with almost 163,000 residents. It is located 20km south east of the CBD in Melbourne's fastest growing population corridor. Monash is a cosmopolitan city with 37% of its residents coming from more than 30 countries. The suburbs of Monash are Ashwood, Burwood (parts of), Chadstone, Clayton, Glen Waverley, Hughesdale, Huntingdale, Mount Waverley, Mulgrave, Notting Hill, Oakleigh, Oakleigh East, Oakleigh South and Wheelers Hill.
In addition Monash University – Clayton Campus and Holmesglen Tafe – Waverley Campus are located within the City of Monash.
According to 2006 ABS Census data, the City of Monash has a total of 333 Indigenous persons living within the municipality, this is an increase of almost 12% from the previous 2001 ABS Census Data.
