Recreation Strategy
3. Maintaining the Presentation of Facilities
Maintaining the standard of recreation and leisure facilities through effective planning and improvement strategies that address issues of ageing infrastructure, changing use patterns and multiuse, will be critical to the success of this objective.
Key outcomes for the next four years include:
- Continued assessment of existing facilities that identifies future refurbishment and capital investment opportunities to develop multiuse potential
- Targeted funding for sporting pavilion improvements across the City that accommodates current user needs
- Further development of responsible policy that encourages contributions by user groups to funding facility improvements
- The use of smart design principles to accommodate accessibility and promote environmentally sound practices in facility redevelopments
